SZC recorded population as 200,000 just before the fall of Nanjing, then 250,000 three months later. Accurate population statistics were absolutely necessary because SZC was responsible for rationing foods, thus these numbers are trustworthy. There are more population statistics for 6 months and all of them suggest Nanjing population increased after the fall of Nanjing.

Safety Zone Comity of Nanjing recorded no murder nor atrocities of Japanese soldiers but Chinese soldiers who were left behind the cities after the fall of Nanjing. SZC was organized and controlled by Americans and Europeans. There were around 120 journalists inside Nanjing city and none of them witnessed nor had valid evidences for Japanese soldier atrocities. What they witnessed is only one lawful execution.
