Learning to scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia, back in the year 2000. We had a 1 week training course including 9 dives on a liveaboard which moved between different reefs. Video includes parts of the PADI open water certification including navigation, removing mask. Lots of fish, turtles, corals and other amazing underwater life. Fran is wearing pink fins, and Neil has odd blue and green fins. The last two minutes show some library footage from Cairns Dive Centre.

See more at swift-move.com The "Grüner See" (engl. Green Lake) is situated in upper styria, austria (see geotag). It is amazingly beautiful because of its deep green colour and the surrounding alpine scenery. The lake itself dries up in autumn but fills up with melting water. The water itself of the lake is extremely pure, like glass. The colour is a result of light refraction. "The night before there seemed to be heavy rain and too much of the pollen were flushed in the water and were floating. So the visibility could be much better, i´ve missed the „crystal clear water. You have to know the Green Lake is famous for its clear water. The good thing for this day was the water level with 9,40m. Spring flowers, plants, benches, hiking trails were below the surface. And i have found out when its the best time during the two to three months "flood" to get in the water - i was to early in this season. Altough the water temperature was between 5 and 6 degrees Celcius i did two dives (85 and 96 minutes long) My face was well frozen, i can hardly speak afterwards. I hoped this procedure kept my face young and skintight. After watching the footage it seemed to be different." The beautiful music is by "Tabolomegalo"

Scuba diving with sharks with Stuart Cove in the bahamas. These are caribbean reef sharks and are unlikely to attack unless provoked or they mistake your hand for a fish. Depth was probably around 15ft and shark size possibly up to 6ft. Was filmed with a Canon s80 with no extra lighting. As you can see, I'm no professional cameraman.

What a sight, thousands of spider crabs all together for their mid winter moult. It lasts a few weeks and then all goes back to normal until next year.

The girls had the opportunity to snorkel two of the Cook Islands. First they head out at 6am to do a early morning snorkel in Rarotonga and then they head over to Aitutaki and take the One Foot Island Lagoon Cruise with Bishops Cruises www.bishopscruises.com and were literally blown away by the beauty found above and below the ocean. Raja Ampat, or Four Kings, resides at the very heart of what is sometimes called a coral triangle, referring to the tropical marine waters of Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste that contain at least 500 species of reef-building corals in each ecoregion. Raja Ampat archipelago comprises of over 1500 small islands, cays and shoals surrounding the four main islands Misool, Salawati, Batanta and Waigeo. It is a part of the newly named Papua province of Indonesia which was formerly called Irian Jaya. I had an honor of visiting this pristine environment in February 2010 onboard MV Pindito liveaboard. M/V Pindito and its amazing crew took us to dive the sites that simply took our breath away. Manta rays, wobbegong sharks, walking sharks, amazing schools of baitfish, rays, sweetlips, and abundance microlife including ever present pygmy seahorses in this one of the worlds most biodiverse areas made this trip a pure enjoyement!
