Zeitgeist: Moving Forward) — третий фильм Питера Джозефа в серии документальных фильмов «Дух времени». В фильме принимают участие специалисты в области общественного здравоохранения, антропологии, нейропсихологии, энергетики, технологий, социальных наук и других соответствующих направлений, относящихся к общественной деятельности и культуре. Три центральные темы фильма — человеческое поведение, денежная экономика и прикладная наука. В фильме делается попытка осознания текущей социальной парадигмы. Предлагается радикальный подход к решению глобальных проблем современности: вооруженных конфликтов, низкого уровня жизни, коррупции, преступности, безнравственного поведения, экологического кризиса и других регрессивных процессов. Интересно: 15-го января 2011 года состоялся мировой релиз фильма в кинотеатрах. За 10 дней успешно прошли показы в 60-ти странах, 291-ом городе и 341-ом кинотеатре. Фильм был переведён активистами движения на 31 язык. Это событие стало крупнейшим некоммерческим релизом документального кино в истории. Filmed before a live audience, the television show consisted of Marx interviewing the contestants and ad libbing jokes, before playing a brief quiz. The show was responsible for the phrases "Say the secret woid [word] and divide $100" (that is, each contestant would get $50); and "Who's buried in Grant's Tomb?" or "What color is the White House?" (asked when Marx felt sorry for a contestant who had not won anything). It ran for eleven years on television. Groucho was the subject of an urban legend about a supposed response to a contestant who had nine children which supposedly brought down the house. In response to Marx asking in disbelief why she had so many children, the contestant replied, "I love my husband." To this, Marx responded, "I love my cigar, too, but I take it out of my mouth once in a while." Groucho often asserted in interviews that this exchange never took place, but it remains one of the most often quoted "Groucho-isms" nonetheless. Throughout his career he introduced a number of memorable songs in films, including "Hooray for Captain Spaulding" and "Hello, I Must Be Going", in Animal Crackers, "Whatever It Is, I'm Against It", "Everyone Says I Love You" and "Lydia the Tattooed Lady". The film, about a "grassroots" political campaign, created unwittingly by a newspaper columnist and pursued by a wealthy businessman, became a box office hit and was nominated for an Academy Award for best original story (for Richard Connell and Robert Presnell Sr.). Though the film is less well known than other Capra classics, it remains highly regarded today. It was ranked #49 in AFI's 100 Years... 100 Cheers. The film is now in the public domain. Infuriated at being told to write one final column after being laid off from her newspaper job, Ann Mitchell (Barbara Stanwyck) prints a letter from a fictional unemployed "John Doe," threatening suicide on Christmas Eve in protest of society's ills. When the note causes a sensation and the paper's competition suspects a fraud and starts to investigate, the newspaper editor rehires Mitchell who comes up with a scheme of hiding the fictional nature of "John Doe" while exploiting the sensation caused by the fake letter to boost the newspaper's sales, for which she demands a bonus equal to 8 months' pay.
