Zastava cleaned up the all the German proof markings and even the serial numbers then re-marked with Yugo crest, arsenal-Preduzece 44, and a new serial number. my Yugo Wauser has a three locking lug bolt serial number matching with the receiver only... Cartridge Conversion - is a must when you have the gun but don't have the ammo, really hard to get, obsolete, or it's too darn expensive. all of the above! I had the rifle for a long time but even with dumpster diving at all... I have only two boxes of reloadable brass and they're mixed bunch of PMC, NNY, Mitchell, & RP. since 30-06 Springfield cartridge family to include 25-06 Rem, 270 Win, & 280(7mm Express) Rem has similar cartridge config as the 8(7.92) x 57mm Mauser, it is very simple and easy to convert them. besides converted cartridges do not require the neck to be turned, just fire forming with safe reloads is the only thing one has to do. I used these products: Lyman Spartan C press, shell holder, case trimmer, Lee sizing lube, Lee RGB 8mm Mauser dies, RCBS chamfer & deburring tool, sizing lube, Hornady lube pad, Dremel tool, Wiha screw drivers, K Orion vernier caliper, Q-tips, Remington 270 Win brass. Howzit? again. got a full HD camcorder, Sony Bloggie, takes excellent video... really. so I took out my Yugoslavian M-98 Wauser Preduzece 44 caliber 8x57mm Mauser for a spin. Sight Zero & Cartridge Conversion classroom scene was powered by 1-100w light bulb directly above, 1-100w was in the rear of the Bloggie, and some day light. still video came out excellent and the close-up of my hands(@ 02:35), outstanding!. outdoor scene; Range(@ 03:00) video came out superb! Sight Zero - is a must when you wanted to hit something you're aiming at! in the beginning it was very painful. first I was shooting between the legs then someone told me, my front sight was too high and needs to be shaved... ok! so I got a dremel tool and went to work. of course the guy who told me to shave didn't go to school so he didn't know anything about the Law of Physics. I got carried away and behold now I'm giving free haircuts, especially part down the middle. luck has it, I got a real macoy german sight. man who had it, try to get my 2 arms & 2 legs for the darn sight. without both arms & legs, how can I protect my 6? I had to protect my 6, u know, he knew it, too. lol. paid the man 5 bucks! it was time when u got the cheese burger combo & a drink for a buck 99 and got a whole penny back!
